Hair thinning is driven at the follicle by the androgen receptor. CosmeRNA's active, SAMiRNA-AR68, is designed to target the messenger RNA behind that receptor — quietening the signal precisely where it begins, topically, without acting on the rest of the body. This is RNA interference: the gene-silencing mechanism awarded the 2006 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
